Hello to everyone out there! It has been a while as I have either been on the water or traveling!
I wanted to update everyone one what is happening out on the bay, inland and near shore waters!
Fishing has been on fire!!! Big Redfish, Trout, Mackerel, Sharks, Grouper, Snapper and Bonita!! All in a day multiple days this month. The wind has not hampered my fishing and the GauseBuiltBoat has handled the weather to perfection! We got slammed by multiple Redfish on Pinfish, Giant trout on White bait under corks, more Redfish on Shrimp the size of baby lobsters(Thank you Jacquie) !! Mackerel have been hitting the whitebait, sharks on whitebait and pinfish as well as pieces of ladyfish! Grouper and snapper on Whitebait and shrimp. Bonita on the whitebait alone!! Bonita have been the spookiest of all the species so far!! Busting all around the boat and would not hit anything! Casting into the fray works best! Chasing them around was the only way to get them on the hook a few days! Good pictures and a great fight on light tackle!!
Even on the days when the wind and rain have been a factor, I am able to get clients on keeper grouper, trout, mackerel, redfish and before November 1 …really large trout.
There have been tons of Bonita flying around the boat.. I mean speedsters!! Light tackle specials and I am still untangling the twisted up line!! Fun enough and that is why we fish.. Much better than not tangling and getting twisted right!!!
Sharks were a real blast on light tackle. They continue to be fun off shore a little and can be easily reached when the wind is not blowing our hats off! Kings and Spanish in the mix!
Redfish have succumb to cut pinfish in less than a foot and ½ of water. HUGE trout.. biggest I have seen in a while have come in but I am catch and release on these!
Kingfish have flooded the bay and near shore wrecks.. Pretty fun on light tackle and one of my favorite to hear the drag on the Quantum 40 reels! 40+ inchers are ordinary! Great when you cut them out in little nuggets.. put them on the grill or fried!.. Smoked is awesome too!
On my most recent charter 4 great clients went out and blasted 5 fat reds with 4 slot fish going home in a bag. The picture is of 3 clients but the other is taking the picture I think! Not the biggest fishing feat in life but the way we did it was! 2 feet of crystal clear water.. So clear I could see the redfish with my Maui Jim prescription sun glasses passing over the bar at 30 yards… cast a shrimp on his head and blamo!!! Fish on!!! A bunch of small trout a few snapper and some flounder. The small grouper came up but not the numbers I wanted. There are a ton of grouper out there we just have to play the wind correctly.
Looking like the holidays are coming up quickly. I wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and make sure you spend the most time with your family!!!
Soon I will be going over to Vero to fish the Indian River lagoon/Stuart Inlet and the inner coastal!!
Call or email with any questions.. if you need anything let me know!
