Catching big redfish because the wind was blowing 22 knot out of the wind we could not go fish for Tarpon but they are there. The reds snook and trout were fired up we missed a big old cobia first cast as well. Literally swam right at the boat with the bait in its mouth and i was screaming reel reel reel but we missed it on a wiff. We kept on catchign fish like the Big Redfish and snook with a couple of big Jack Crevalle in the shallow water points and bays.
While that is fun I assure you it is some people like to eat fish and snapper provide a great way to get some supper on the table. Whole , fried or filleted they taste great!
Again we went north to catch the tide and the snook and reds showed up well along with the slams which is trout redfish and snook in the same day. Sometimes we had to go the extra mile for that to happen but with a little effort we made it happen.
Some real big monsters too! 36 inchers plus on some days!
The grouper are here and some are very large. This was a 36 inch grouper on light tackle. We get these and tarpon as well as black tip shark, bull and hammer head on the same spots. Along the way we get flounder mackerel and snapper too!
With a little variety we get the kids involved. This girl got the big snook and I had a hard time getting her off the phone but she did it all herself. That was cool!
